Once I have made my purchase, may I change the passenger’s name?

No, name changes are not allowed

How can I get the cheapest air fare?

The key to accessing the cheapest fares is anticipation and advance purchase.

How can I tell if my purchase is confirmed?

A ticket is considered sold once our personnel or reservations systems issue a booking code (PNR). The purchase is considered closed once full payment is received.

How long in advance should I show up at the airport?

Passengers have to be checked in at airport counters at least 60 minutes prior to domestic departures and 90 minutes prior to international departures.

What is the time deadline for purchasing a ticket?

Tickets can be purchased via our call center (01 800 237 66 27) up until two hours before scheduled departure or at the airport counter at least 90 minutes before scheduled departure.

What is the luggage allowance?

Each passenger is entitled to check-in free of charge 25 kilos for domestic flights and 2 pieces weighing a maximum of 32 kilos each for international ones. This policy applies to minors but not to infants.

Do I need to let you know about my wheelchair requirements?

Yes, at the time of purchase

May pregnant women travel?

Yes, before the seventh month of pregnancy. Women in their seventh month of pregnancy are required to sign a release. From the eight month of pregnancy on, a signed release plus a medical certificate are needed. In case of a high risk pregnancy, in addition to the above documents, a corresponding medical affidavit is required.

Can I change the time, route or date of my ticket?

Yes, changes are allowed, based upon availability and subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable fare rule.

Can I carry a stroller or baby chair onboard?

Due to limited space, these ítems are not allowed as carry-on. They can however be taken all the way to the airplane’s door and checked-in there. Upon arrival they will be delivered as you deplane.

Can I carry musical instruments on board?

Yes, instruments that fit under the seat or storage bins such as flutes, violins, trumpets, etc… If these are large enough to occupy a seat, you will have to pay full fare for it, as long as its size does not exceed two meters in length, height or width, its weight is under 46 kilos and it is placed and secured in the seat next to you.

Can I obtain a refund for previously purchased tickets?

Yes, in most cases fares are refundable, subject to their terms and restrictions.

Can I accrue frequent flyer mileage on other carriers by flying with Aeromar?

Yes, you can accrue and redeem mileage on Mexicana’s “Frecuenta” Frequent Flyer Program by flying on Aeromar.

May I travel with my pet?

Yes, pets can be transported in specially designed containers for dogs, cats and domesticated birds having their corresponding vaccination and certificates. Only guide dogs are allowed alongside passengers, all other pets are forbidden in the main passenger cabin.

Can I carry sports gear?

Yes, as part of your baggage allowance. Excess baggage will be charged at a fee of 2% of the applicable full fare YP, plus VAT, for each kilo.

Are passengers on stretchers accepted?

Yes. The booking must be made at least 48 hours in advance to set up the required cabin modifications.

Are electronic devices accepted on board?

Yes. Due to safety procedures these might be used only when the flight attendants have so advised.

What carry on is prohibited?

Dangerous materials, balloons, inflated balls, fishing rods, spears, dards, baseball bats, domestic tools, surgery instruments, glass-made objects or any other item judged by the airline to pose a threat to the aircraft or its passengers.

What are considered dangerous materials?

Dangerous materials are those that, when carried inside an airplane, might pose a significant health, safety or property hazard. Due to aviation´s stringent enforcement of safety standards, the transportation of this type of materials is strictly regulated and overseen by the corresponding authorities.

What shall I do in case my luggage is damaged or lost?

The airline’s liability for baggage that is damaged or lost is limited in accordance to the applicable national and international regulations. In case of damage, loss or delay, the passenger shall notify the airline and fill out a claim form.

What forms of identification are accepted for check-in and boarding?

As a safety precaution you will be required to show an official ID, such as a valid passport or driver’s license.

What happens in case I do not show up for my flight?

Ticketed passengers will be subject to the applicable no show charge, which will be informed at the time of processing a new reservation or contacting any Aeromar counter or office personnel. For passengers not yet ticketed, their booking will be cancelled.

What is considered carry-on?

Carry-on includes personal ítems that can be brought onboard free of charge under full time custody of the passenger. These items may include a laptop computer, briefcase or purse, not exceeding dimensions of 22x38x65 cms and weighing less than 10 kilos.

What are the requirements to transport an unaccompanied minor?

From the age of 5 years until 11 years and 11 months, minors can travel unaccompanied, as long as their parent or tutor signs the appropriate authorization release. Youngsters between the ages of 12 and 18 will be considered unaccompanied minors only at the request of their parent or tutor.

Do I have to pay for an infant passenger?

No, infants under the age of 2 are allowed free of charge without occupying a seat, except for payment of an infant ticket fee of 250 pesos plus VAT. An infant occupying a seat will be charged the applicable fare for the particular flight. A second infant flying with a single adult passenger will be charged similarly. Infants under 7 days are not allowed.

Are babies in incubators allowed?

Yes, infants older than 7 days are allowed, as long as they are accompanied by a doctor or nurse and the corresponding medical certificate or release is presented. A 250 peso plus VAT fee applies.

Can I get my boarding pass via the Internet?

Persently boarding passes can only be obtained at AEROMAR check in counters and offices.
